The Yacht Club "Helsingfors Segelsällskap", founded in 1893, is the second oldest Yacht Club in Helsinki. Since 1896 the small island Skifferholmen has been the habitat för HSS and its members. HSS first pavilion on skifferholmen was inaugurated in 1898.
The club has in its disposal a land area of 2,6 acres and a water area of 16 acres. The harbour has berths for more than 200 yachts. In 1990 HSS was classified as the official guest harbour of the capital.
HSS has about 950 members and its boatregister includes about 250 boats.
There is a good connection from the island to onshore with our shuttleboat.
The marina has good facilities:
Nice restaurang, shower facilities with sauna and laundry possibilities with dryingroom.
For your boat we offer:
Fresh water, 230 voltage electricity, Shell gasstation and mastcrane for sailors.
